Training Providers

Workforce Solutions of the Coastal Bend (WFSCB) values the diverse training providers in the Coastal Bend who take pride in educating Texans and WFSCB customers. WFSCB is able to send customers to Eligible Training Providers (ETP) to gain their education and to become employment-ready after graduation. An Eligible Training Provider is an entity with job training programs approved by the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) to provide Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) funded training services.

All training providers are welcome to apply for placement onto the Eligible Training Provider List (ETPL), but inclusion on the statewide ETPL does not guarantee that a WFSCB will refer any student to the program or that it will receive any funds. Why do we still welcome any training provider to apply for the ETPL? Though a training provider’s program may not meet the local Targeted Occupation List (TOL), does not mean that it would not meet the statewide TOL. When an ETP is placed onto the statewide ETPL, any WIOA customer in Texas may attend that ETP as long as it meets the WIOA customer’s local Board’s TOL. To see WFSCB local TOL, please click here.

Before being added to the statewide ETPL, each training provider must submit the required documents to WFSCB before receiving final approval from Texas Workforce Commission.

TO APPLY

  • Two Letters from employers stating the ETP applicant is a reputable training institution that produces qualified graduates that find employment after graduation.
  • Financial documentation deeming the training provider applicant institution is in good financial standings.
  • A copy of the course curriculum or school catalog.
  • The ETP Tool can be downloaded from the TWC website here.

Once all documentation is received, WFSCB will review all documents to determine if applying institution is eligible for submission to TWC. If locally approved, WFSCB will submit the applying institution for ETPL consideration to TWC.

*A training provider MUST be appropriately licensed, regulated, or accredited, or must be exempt from regulation under Texas Education Code, Chapter 132, with authorization in a Letter of Exemption from TWC Career Schools and Colleges.
