SAN DIEGO, TX – The South Texas Career Connection (STCC) is a higher education and industry collaboration that includes Benavides ISD, Jim Hogg County ISD, San Diego ISD, Workforce Solutions of the Coastal Bend, employers, and community organizations. This alliance collectively provides important career pathways to success for high school students and offers them opportunities to personalize their education based on their college and career readiness. Initiatives are in alignment with the regional workforce needs.

Wednesday, February 23, 2022, a Career & Technical Employer Expo will be held at San Diego High School Gym from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM to connect students with regional employers and to bring awareness to career and technical programs offered in the area.  Students will learn about career pathways and skills needed to gain employment in the Business, Healthcare, Professional Skills & Trades, and Public Service Industries.

Introductions will be made by special guest, Texas Workforce Commissioner Representing Labor, Julian Alvarez III at 10:00 am. This event is open to students from Benavides ISD, Jim Hogg County ISD, San Diego ISD, and employers who have R.S.V.P.’d. Media partners are welcome. Please call Xena Mercado to coordinate your visit.
